NeighborImpact offers a Foreclosure Prevention workshop every three weeks on Monday evening. These workshops are for families and individuals who anticipate having trouble making their mortgage payments and those who already are in default. The workshop covers all the options that are available to households who are in need of assistance by explaining how individuals can work with their loan servicer; the basics of loan refinancing and loan modifications; Oregon’s foreclosure regulations and timeline; what is a short sale and deed in lieu; the ins and outs of the federal “Making Home Affordable” plan; and how to avoid foreclosure rescue scams. After attending the workshop, individuals can make an appointment to meet with a housing counselor for one-on-one counseling.
“They explained every program and option very clearly and I am confident that NeighborImpact can help” – Foreclosure Prevention Workshop Attendee
“Thank you for your past hard work and efforts to help us with the modification. I don’t think we expressed our appreciation enough for all you did for us and I know you worked relentlessly for us” – NeighborImpact Client
Both the workshop and counseling are free and open to the public; however NeighborImpact only can provide counseling to people who are at risk of losing their primary residence. For more information or to register for the workshop call (541) 318-7506 x109.
