NeighborImpact's Food Recovery & Assistance Program
The NeighborImpact Food Bank is the Regional Food Bank in the Oregon Food Bank state network, serving Central Oregon, including communities in Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson Counties since 1985.
NeighborImpact receives and distributes food to a network of over 40 local agencies that include emergency food box sites, congregate meal sites, brown bag programs and shelters. Local agencies redistribute food received from the NeighborImpact Food Bank directly to people seeking emergency food assistance.
In accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race,color, national origin, sex, age, religion, political beliefs, or disability.
•In 2007 NeighborImpact's Food Bank distributed over 1.4 Million pounds of food to its network of local agencies • Each month in Central Oregon over 7,800 people rely upon emergency food boxes for some of their food needs • 40% of the people who depend upon emergency food boxes are children under the age of 18
