WHY ME:
As a full time OCAC Americorps Member you can earn a taxable education award of $4725 to cover the costs of education or to repay qualified student loans, a taxable stipend of up to $11,400 dollars (members only receive a stipend while serving) and may be eligible for medical insurance, loan forbearance and childcare. Beyond these benefits, all members have the opportunity to gain skills, take on leadership roles, work with partners, build networks and focus on Getting Things Done.

The Oregon Community Action Corps will have 24 AmeriCorps positions in community action agencies around the state during the 2009 - 2010 service term. Oregon Community Action Corps positions focus on food security, financial literacy, employment and skills training, healthcare access, social services, and volunteer coordination. All positions are full-time (40 hours a week). Two of those positions are in Central Oregon through NeighborImpact and one in partnership through NeighborImpact and Volunteer Insights. Members will serve 1700 hours over an 11 month period. Service begins August 24 with a 3 day orientation.

NeighborImpact - Health Access Navigator

Provide and track information and referrals to families for public health benefits, free/low-cost clinics, and health care resources within NeighborImpact case management programs. Assist in the development and maintain electronic communication forum to assist staff in sharing health access tips. Monitor health access communications and share information/tips as needed.
