Empty Bowls 2018

The 17th Annual Empty Bowls event will take place on October 28, 2018 at the Central Oregon Community College Campus Center. Tickets are on sale now and can be found at NeighborImpact.org/empty-bowls. Attendees of the event will receive a beautifully handcrafted bowl made by local potters as well as gourmet soup or chili made by COCC Culinary Institute, artisan bread from the Village Bakery, beverages and dessert. Guests will enjoy a relaxed dining experience and the music of local artists, Summit Express Jazz Band.

Empty Bowls is an internationally recognized event that raises awareness of hunger and hunger-related issues. Attendees keep their handcrafted bowls as a reminder of the millions of bowls that remain empty each day around the world.

Locally, funds raised from the event support NeighborImpact’s Emergency Food Assistance program. This program feeds approximately 25,000 people each month and distributes over 3 million pounds of food locally each year.

About NeighborImpact’s Food Program: NeighborImpact’s Food Program is the regional affiliate of Oregon Food Bank. The program collects and distributes over 4.7 million pounds of food to 47 local agencies in Crook, Deschutes,and Jefferson counties and at the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. Emergency food sites help an average of 22,000 individuals every month.
