Free academic, vocational, and social skills training in a residential environment for young adults ages 16-24 with limited job skills. Services: High school diploma and GED support, job placement, job training for trades such as landscape gardening, carpentry, culinary arts, and drafting. Eligibility: Must meet federal income guidelines, age requirement, and have a commitment to completing the program.

BestCare is the contracted community mental health program in Jefferson County. Provides mental health assessments to children, families, and adults. Provides counseling and support for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, school-based mental health services, community-based treatment services, and support for young adults in transition.

Help low income families become self-supporting while assisting them in meeting their basic needs. Services: SNAP (food benefits), ERDC (Employment Related Daycare), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, commonly referred to as the “Cash” or “JOBS” program), TA-DVS (Temporary Assistance for Domestic Violence Survivors), Work assistance, and Refugee Services.
