Robberson Ford Host Peanut Butter Drive to Stock NeighborImpact Food Bank

Robberson Ford is teaming up with Newport Market in Bend and Erickson’s Thriftway in Prineville to collect jars of peanut butter from May 1-15 to help NeighborImpact food bank meet the summer demand for nutritious, kid-friendly foods.

The peanut butter drive is in response to the increased demand for this important staple during the summer months, when many children lose access to free or reduced school meal programs. It is estimated nearly 13 million kids in the U.S. are facing hunger, and when school is out during the summer months, local food banks carry a larger responsibility to feed them. Peanut butter is a great food for kids due to its high protein content, but is difficult for food banks to acquire in adequate quantities.

During the drive, people can donate or purchase jars of peanut butter at Newport Market or Erickson’s Thriftway. Robberson Ford will be donating a jar of peanut butter for every oil change and 4 cases of peanut butter for every vehicle purchase during the time frame.

“Being part of the communities in which we do business has always been and will always be part of who Robberson Ford is.” Said Jeff Robberson, President Robberson Ford. “Having two incredible partners like Newport Market and Erickson’s Thriftway really helps us put an incredible amount of peanut butter in NeighborhoodImpact’s food bank”

Since 2014, the drive has collected over 44,000 pounds of peanut butter, feeding thousands of kids throughout the summer in Central Oregon.
