Educational Support and Grant Opportunities
for Home-based providers
Educational support and funding opportunities are available for home-based child care providers or aspiring home-based providers in Central Oregon. This program is a collaboration by NeighborImpact Child Care Resources and the Small Business Development Center at Central Oregon Community College.
The Early Child Care Business Accelerator Program for Home Based Providers is a free program offered in Spanish and English that equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to become Registered or Certified Family Child Care Providers. The program includes seven evening classes and six advising sessions. It is offered through NeighborImpact’s Child Care Resources and Central Oregon Community College’s Small Business Development Center.

Program Benefits for Participants
Program Participants are eligible for a $5,000 grant upon meeting program deliverables:
- Finish the free seven session course and course deliverables
- Become Licensed and Operational as a Registered or Certified Child Care Provider in Central Oregon
- Offer Full-time care
- Complete a site visit with NeighborImpact Child Care Resources
Participants will also receive Oregon Registry Online (ORO) credit – 18 hours in Program Management, ongoing support through NeighborImpact, entrance into the Oregon Child Care Alliance, and a free childcare management software subscription for 2 years.
Are you Program Eligible?
Prior to starting the program, persons need to make sure they can operate a child care business out of their home. Child Care Resources can work with persons to complete items needed before being able to participate in the program:
- Enroll in the Central Background Registry
- Submit water lead testing results for your residence
- Gain landlord acknowledgement or HOA approval for program site
- Complete Introduction to Registered Family Child Care Classes One & Two
