SImply the Best: NeighborImpact’s Weatherization Program rated “Exemplary”
NeighborImpact’s Weatherization program reduces clients’ home energy bills and makes their homes more comfortable with energy saving measures like insulation, duct sealing, furnace replacement and more. Each year, the program undergoes an audit through Oregon Housing and Community Services, which evaluates the program’s quality and effectiveness through a series of rigorous interviews, file reviews and field inspections.
This year, NeighborImpact’s Weatherization program achieved the highest rating possible—the only weatherization program in the state to earn an exemplary rating.
“Agency and contractors continually achieve some of the best results with air leakage and duct leakage reductions in the network,” the evaluation report states.
“It’s a great distinction,” said NeighborImpact’s Weatherization director, Jessica Taylor. “We work with exemplary contractors and have exemplary people on staff, so I think it’s well-deserved.”
The Weatherization program received a plaque for achieving this rating in 2008. OHCS no longer offers plaques, so staff have given the old one an update to commemorate the achievement.
