NeighborImpact’s Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser
The 18th Annual Empty Bowls event took place on October 27, 2019 at the Central Oregon Community College Campus Center. Attendees received a beautifully handcrafted bowl made by local potters as well as lunch consisting of soup or chili, bread, refreshments, and dessert. Attendees enjoyed a relaxed dining experience at the COCC Campus Center that includes music by local artists.
Empty Bowls is an internationally recognized event that raises awareness of hunger and hunger-related issues. Participants keep their handcrafted bowl as a reminder of the millions of bowls that remain empty each day around the world. Locally, funds raised from the event support NeighborImpact’s Food Bank, which distributes over three million pounds of food annually to 55 food sites throughout Central Oregon. Every month, over 25,000 persons receive food through those locations.
