Free the Food

In a Free the Food drive, customers take a free tote bag, fill it up with food, and return it to one of the many drop sites around Central Oregon. Then do it again! If you want to host a Free the Food display at your business or get involved, you can learn more here.

Online Food Drive

No space for a barrel or bag stand? Let customers Shop the Online Food Drive! All you need is enough space for a sheet of paper to host an Online Food Drive at your business. Customers can shop for and donate food to Central Oregon families right from their phone. Download our Online Food Drive Flyer to get started.

Host a Food Drive

Food donations from food drives are some of the best variety of products distributed by our food bank. Here are some tips for a successful food drive:

  1. Identify a reasonable goal. Consider how long you’ll run the drive and how many people you expect to participate.
  2. Offer an incentive. Offering a discount, incentive, or making the food drive a competition always results in a much more successful food drive!
  3. Gather promotional materials. Create your own materials or request supplies from NeighborImpact staff such as posters, logos, and fact sheets.
  4. Publicize your event. Put up flyers, send out emails, promote on social media, and spread the word!
  5. Have a drop point. If you can commit to filling a 55-gallon barrel (approximately 250 lbs of food), we can drop one off at your site, or you may come by our Redmond food warehouse any time Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 4:30pm to pick one up. You are also welcome to collect food using your own boxes or containers. Once your food drive is complete, we ask that you deliver it to our food warehouse (2303 SW First Street, Redmond). Please contact NeighborImpact Food Bank at (541) 410-9102 if you are interested in coordinating a food drive.
