NeighborImpact Expands Free Home Weatherization Services to the Columbia River Gorge

NeighborImpact is bringing its free home weatherization program to residents of the Gorge region, helping households save money on energy bills and make their homes safer, warmer and more comfortable year-round.

The Weatherization Program provides no-cost home improvements for income-qualified homeowners and renters. Services can include adding insulation, sealing air leaks and ducts, and repairing or replacing inefficient heating systems and appliances. The program’s trained staff perform a full home energy audit to identify which upgrades will make the biggest impact on comfort and energy savings.

Depending on what the audit finds, improvements may include:

  • Adding insulation in key areas of the home
  • Sealing air leaks and ducts
  • Addressing health and safety issues
  • Repairing or replacing inefficient heating systems or appliances

“NeighborImpact’s goal is to help families stay safe and healthy in their homes while lowering energy costs,” said Jessica Taylor, NeighborImpact’s Weatherization director. “Our team evaluates each home individually to identify the upgrades that will make the biggest difference for that household.”

Weatherization is available to renters or homeowners, in both stick-built and manufactured homes.
