Marketing Series

Building a Standout Brand for Your Child Care Business

In this session, child care providers will learn how to craft a strong brand identity that highlights the unique value of their program. Participants will define their target audience, refine their niche, and develop a marketing plan that strengthens their online presence with budget-friendly SEO strategies. The session will also cover branding essentials such as logo design, document continuity, and professional visibility. To support long-term success, providers will be introduced to the ECERS-3 framework, using it as a tool for continuous quality improvement that fosters family engagement and builds trust with prospective clients.

Marketing Your Quality Child Care Environment

Expanding on the foundation set in Part 1, this session will focus on transforming quality standards into effective marketing strategies. Providers will analyze ECERS-3 results to highlight strengths and showcase their commitment to excellence. Participants will also explore funding opportunities and CCR&R support systems that help sustain high-quality care. The session will conclude with actionable strategies for refining a brand that reflects their mission, conducting engaging facility tours that highlight staff interactions, and implementing operational improvements that enhance continuity of care. By the end of this workshop, participants will be equipped with the tools to confidently market their child care business and stand out in a competitive landscape.

Financial Management Workshop

Taking Control of Your Child Care Finances: Start the school year with confidence by mastering the financial aspects of your child care business. This workshop provides a comprehensive review of essential financial tools, including your annual budget, Profit and Loss Statement, Cash Flow Statement, and Balance Sheet. Participants will explore strategies for blending and braiding funding streams to diversify income sources and enhance financial stability. While programs like the Center Directors’ Network and Spark! are accessible to all, Baby Promise (BP) and Preschool Promise (PP) may already be part of some participants’ funding mix. These programs will be reviewed as components to consider within financial statements, emphasizing how to effectively track and plan for multiple revenue streams to support operational sustainability and quality care.

Facility Management Series

Building Systems for Seamless Facility Operations

A well-structured facility runs on clear, efficient systems. In this session, participants will begin developing their Facility Management Manual, a comprehensive tool for streamlining operations and ensuring consistency. Providers will establish key operational frameworks, including core facility information, policy and procedure development, and financial management systems. Participants will also explore business technology tools, including Child Care Management Systems (CCMS), to simplify administrative tasks, improve record-keeping, and enhance daily operations. By the end of this session, providers will have the foundation for a structured, well-documented facility management system that supports smooth daily operations and long-term sustainability.

Strengthening Communication to Support Learning and Care

Clear and consistent communication is essential for a well-managed child care facility. This session focuses on developing structured systems for sharing lesson plans, observations, assessments, caregiving schedules, and daily routines—ensuring staff and families are informed and engaged. Participants will explore strategies for documenting and organizing communication logs, technology-based documentation tools, and administrative systems that enhance collaboration between teachers, administrators, and families. This session will help providers establish communication protocols that support program management, family engagement, and record-keeping, all of which will be incorporated into their Facility Management Manual.

Enhancing Systems for Meaningful Interactions

Strong, positive interactions create a high-quality child care environment. In this session, participants will build systems that foster meaningful connections among staff, children, and families. Through specialized training and insights from guest speakers, providers will learn how to create structured approaches for family communication, staff collaboration, and best practices for fostering positive teacher-child interactions. This session will also include a deep dive into the ECERS-3 Interactions scale, helping providers evaluate and improve the quality of interactions within their programs. Participants will leave with clearly defined strategies and documented procedures that support human resources management, staff training, family engagement, and quality assurance—all integral components of their Facility Management Manual.
